Mohammad Kaif to captain Ranji debutants Chattisgarh

Mohammed Kaif has been appointed the captain of the Chattisgarh state team which will make its Ranji Trophy debut in the upcoming season.

Sulakshan Kulkarni is appointed as head coach at a press conference in Raipur on Monday. Kaif’s entry into Chhattisgarh cricket was anchored by former Mumbai wicket-keeper Sulakshan Kulkarni.

Chattisgarh State Cricket Sangh, formerly an associate member of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), was elevated to full membership in February this year and will be the tenth team in Group C during India’s premier domestic tournament.

About Mohammed Kaif

Mohammed Kaif (born 1 December 1980) is an Indian cricketer. He made it to the national team on the strength of his performances at the Under-19 level, where he captained the Indian team to victory in the Under-19 World Cup in 2000.
Kaif, who represented India in 13 Tests and 125 One-Day Internationals (ODI), made his first-class debut back in 1997-98 and turned up for Uttar Pradesh for more than a decade, before moving to Andhra in 2014.
