The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is scheduled to conduct the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examinations II 2016 on Sep. 18, 2016 (Sunday). The examinations will be held at centres across the country.

The e-admit card of the candidates have been uploaded on the UPSC website: http://www.upsc.gov.in. They have to be downloaded and the candidates will not be issued any separate paper admit cards. They must carry a print out of the admit cards.

If any applicant has trouble downloading their e-admit cards, they can contact the UPSC Facilitation Counter through these numbers: 011-23385271, 011-233811256, and 011-23098543.

The officials will be available between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on working days.

If the photographs of the candidates are not properly visible on the e-admit cards, they have to carry two identical photographs along with an identity proof like students’ identity card, voter ID, Aadhar card or driving licence.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who are appearing for the NDA exam 2016 are advised to check all the details of the exam including the eligibility criteria. The details of the eligibility criteria is mentioned below:

Nationality:

The candidates must be a:

  • a citizen of India , or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came to India before the 01 January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • Only unmarried candidates are allowed to write the NDA exam 2016.

Age:

(For NDA I 2016):

The candidates not born before 2nd July 1997 and not later than 1st July 2000 are eligible.

(For NDA II 2016):

The candidates not born before 2nd January 1998 and not later than 1st July 2001 are eligible.

Educational Qualifications:

For Indian Army wing of National Defence Academy: The candidates appearing for the exam must have passed or appearing class 12th from a recognized board or university.

For Air force and Indian Navy: The candidates must have passed or appearing class 12th with physics and Mathematics from a recognized board or university.

Exam Pattern

The NDA exam consist of two papers: Mathematics and General ability test, below we have discussed both the papers in details.

Mathematics: The mathematics paper is of 300 marks and consist of multiple choice questions based on the syllabus of class 10th and 11th. The time allowed to write the paper is 2.5 hr.

General Ability: The General Ability test comprises of two section i.e. Section A and Section B. The section A is of English (200 marks) and Section B (400 marks) is of general knowledge.

All the question are MCQ type and contain a negative marking for the wrong answers.
