mirzya

The title song of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directed film, Mirzya, released on Thursday. From the visuals it looks like the Hindi film industry will tell a tale of love which has been missing from the industry for quite some time. The chemistry between Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher has been garnering a lot of attention. The director who gave us films like Rang De Basanti, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Delhi 6 will now tell us the famous folklore of Mirzya- Sahiba, with a twist.

Watch the video for the Mirzya title track here:

hinnal and the Nooran Sisters’ vocals, and Shankar Mahadevan joins in for the chorus, along with The Salvation Singers, Nikita Deshpande and Sapna Pathak. Mirzya will soon become one of those tunes that you would like to begin their days with and listen again before going to bed.

This is a folksy number that extols the love of Mirza and Sahiba, and several more visuals from the film than the trailer had. The images cut from the scenes depicting the epic of Mirza-Sahiba (his skill with archery and riding a horse) to the present day, where we see Harshvardhan’s character as a polo player. There’s also a flashback to Harshvardhan(son of Anil Kapoor) and Saiyami’s characters’ childhood, when their bond is first forged.
