A joint operation by the security forces was conducted in Old Town, Baramulla during the wee hours of Monday.

It was a joint search by the teams of Army, BSF, CRPF and police in 10 localities, including Qazi Hamam, Ganai Hamam, Taweed Gunj and Jamia, considered safe havens for terrorists.

Around 700 houses were searched in a span of 12 hours and 44 person44 arrested, Chinese and Pakistani flags recovered in J&K’s Baramullas involved in terror related activities have been arrested during the operation. Security agencies seized petrol bombs, Chinese and Pakistani flags, LeT and Jaish letterpads, illegal mobile phones and other seditious material from them.

A large number of suspected hideouts were also busted during the search operation.

Following the search operation Pakistan-based terror group Laskar-e-Taiba has issued a warning to the Baramulla SHO for facilitating an operation

Kashmir valley had witnessed unrest following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani in an encounter with security forces on July 8.
