The last time that Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur came together on screen, the film ‘Aashiqui 2’ turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office with the music and the chemistry between the couple being loved by the masses.
The couple comes together again in ‘OK Jaanu’, a remake of Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film, ‘O Kadhal Kanmani’. The film is directed by Shaad Ali, who is formerly an assistant to Ratnam and helmer of the popular romantic film ‘Saathiya’.
Watch the trailer of Ok Jaanu trailer
The trailer of OK Jaanu starts off by introducing us to Adi (Aditya) and Tara (Shraddha) who are looking for a place in Mumbai to move in together, with no intentions of getting married as they chant, “Hame shaadi nahi karni” in unison right at the onset of the trailer. Both of them know that their life will eventually go in two different directions as Tara wants to study Architecture in Paris and Adi wants to go to America. Hence they decide to stay together till their respective career choices pull them apart.
Needless to say, the two of them fall in love and become each others’ habit. Predictably, Tara gets an e-mail informing about her admission in Paris. In 10 days Adi will take off for US and Tara for Paris. As the days inch closer, they are neither ready to leave their habit nor love. It’s a choice between their ambition and love which is voiced by Nasseruddin Shah towards the end of the trailer when he asks Tara, “Tumhare liye zyada ahem kya hai? Tumahra career ya Adi?”
The chemistry between the couple is impressive and with the music being composed by A R Rahman, we can definitely expect some chartbusters. Gulzar has once again spelled magic with his lyrics.
