CHENNAI: Former Tamil Nadu chief minister O Panneerselvam called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday and discussed issues relating to the two AIADMK unification — one led by him and another led by chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

The meeting went on for more than 30 minutes. Rajya Sabha MP V Maithreyan, former state minister K P Munusamy and former Rajya Sabha member Manoj Pandian were present.

“OPS and Modi discussed all the major issues affecting the state. The meeting went on smoothly,” Maithreyan told TOI.
On Friday, Palaniswami met Modi. Panneerselvam was also supposed to meet Modi on that day. But the meeting did not happen then.

The meeting of OPS with Modi happened on a day when AIADMK (Amma) deputy general secretary, who leads a third faction in the party, is set to hold an MGR centenary function at Melur near Madurai. Dhinakaran has said he will answer all questions relating to the party and him at the function.
