A 37-year-old woman allegedly jumped to his death from third floor of DB Mall on Monday. The family though has ruled out possibility of suicide and claims that she accidently fell down from the floor. Panic gripped the mall as the visitors spotted the woman lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to JP hospital and then to Narmada hospital.

Renuka Mittal

The woman has been identified as Renuka Mittal, a resident of Lakherapura. According to police, the husband of deceased runs a garment shop in Lakherapura area, while her father was CMO at Chiruayu hospital. The deceased is survived by two minor daughters. In statement to the police, Renuka’s father Dr Prahlad Das Agrawal has ruled out the possibility of suicide. At around 3 pm Renuka had gone to the mall with her 6-year-old daughter informing the family that she was going to the bank. In the mall she left her daughter at Amoeba gaming zone telling her to stay as she was going to toilet.

Police said that though the family members are claiming that woman fell to death accidentally but it could not be ascertained now whether it was an accident or a suicide.

CCTV footage

In the CCTV footage, the woman is  talking over the phone at the balcony near 10 Downing Street pub on the third floor of the shopping mall from where she fell down. Deceased’s husband Sanjay in his statement told police that before the incident he had a conversation with his wife Renuka and she had told him that they are at shopping mall and she even asked him to pick them up. Police is not ruling out that she must have fallen down from the floor while she was speaking with her husband on phone. After the preliminary investigation the body will send to Hamidia hospital mortuary .

police investigation:

The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. Police said that the visitors at the time of the incident and shopkeepers would be questioned in order to ascertain the exact time of the accident.
