Mumbai: The Opposition has demanded that chief minister Devendra Fadnavis set up a committee of sitting high court judges to probe into the alleged corruption cases against BJP and Shiv Sena members.
NCP leader Dhananjay Munde alleged that there are 14 ministers who are involved in corruption cases. “We are not only making allegations but also submitting evidence with it. We had raised the Rs263-crore Chikki scam a year ago, but till date nothing has been done. The similar thing has happened with other scams that includes the fire brigade equipment purchase scam, pulses scam, slum rehabilitation scam, purchase of bogus medicine in the govt-run hospitals,” Munde added.
Targeting Shiv Sena minister Ravindra Waikar Mr. Munde said despite evidence of land-grabbing and the minister’s use of his post for private gains, the Chief Minister has not asked for his resignation. “It takes courage to seek the Sena minister’s resignation, it seems.”
Taking part in the debate, Narayan Rane (Congress) said the BJP “fooled” the people of the state by promising, ahead of the polls, to provide a transparent and corruption-free government.
