Representatives of the minority institutions are staging demonstrations PAN India against the current draft of education policy. A large number of teachers, correspondents and management staff of Christian and Muslim institutions are participating in the demonstrations.
Tamil Nadu Bishops’ Council, a rally was held in Vellore, The Samaththuva Kalvikkaana Koottamaippu (Confederation for Egalitarian Education) organised a fast, some schools run by the Church of South India (CSI) are distributing pamphlets among parents explaining what they described as the draft NEP’s “attempt to distort history” and seeking solidarity in their fight against the policy.
Kanimozhi, DMK Rajya Sabha MP, who took part in the fast, said the DMK president M. Karunanidhi had already voiced dissent against such the policy.
The Centre was making all-out efforts to include Sanskrit in the education, she said.
According to minor communities center is trying to saffronise education. They also claim that the new education policy inputs are against the minorities’ education services and rights.
