Portugal were crowned Euro 2016 winners after their dramatic win over hosts France in the capital Paris Substitute Eder scored the stunning winning goal in extra time to seal a 1-0 victory for Fernando Santos’ outfit. It is a remarkable achievement for Portugal as they had not beaten France since 1975.
Highlights of the Euro 2016 final:
- 8th Min: Ronaldo’s got hurt after a tackle from Dimitri Payet. He hobbled off the pitch with a knee injury after 24 mins of play.
- 34th minute: Excellent save from the Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patrocio
- 52nd Min: Miss by France. Excellent save from Patrocio
- 62nd minute: Portugal’s Mario gets the yellow card
- 66th Min: Antoine Griezmann’s miss a golden opportunity, the header went just wide and wow!! what a miss from France.
- 89th Min: France’s Gignac and Griezmann try to break but the ball went straight to Patrocio
- 97th Min: Raphael, Matuidi and Carvalho gets yellow card. Three Yellow cards in just two or three minutes.
- 108th Min: Raphael hits crossbar….Koscielny gets a yellow card. Dangerous for France now as Portugal takes a free kick just outside the box . A good free kick and the ball hits the goal post and a close shave for France.
- 109th Min: Eder scores a brilliant goal at the 109th minute who ironically plays for French club Lille.
