Kabali Movie Review And Rating
Kabali” is a gangster movie, in which Rajinikanth plays the role of the character of a don (Kabaleeswaran aka Kabali). Radhika Apte will be seen as his wife named Kumudhavalli. Dhanshika plays a sniper and Riythivika plays a school dropout drug addict.
The movie is set in Malaysia and primarily deals with how Rajinikanth turns the messiah of masses. He stands up for the Tamils plantation workers when they are unfairly treated by a section and branded as the villains of the nation. He treads on a tough path and the cost he pays for his actions in the journey is the remaining part of the story, which is believed to be narrated with all the necessary commercial elements. In short, it throughs a light at the plight of Malaysian Tamils.
The best part of the film, obviously, is Rajinikanth. His charisma pulls Kabali through. From the slick visuals showing the flashback to Rajinikanth playing his age as a don, his fans will not go home disappointed. Add to it the hit Neruppa Da and you hear enough whistles and clapping in the theatre. Rajinikanth totally rocks his role and he puts an amazing performance on board after really a very long time.
Radhika brings a nuance to her performance as Rajinikanth’s wife and is a refreshing change after watching heroines in bit roles in Rajini movies. The scene where Radhika meets Rajini in the second half – gold!
Apart from these background score, strong music and cinematography of the film are the major highlights of the movie.
The only thing that doesn’t work is slow narrations. Even screenplay and direction could have been better.
You can watch Kabali as Kabali is Rajini’s One Man Show
