Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao has been cast opposite Nargis Fakhri in a Hollywood production titled 5 Weddings, to be directed by Namrata Singh Gujral. After wrapping up Bareily Ki Barfi with Ayushmann Khurrana and Kriti Sanon, the actor will work on his Hollywood project, 5 Weddings.
A production house from Los Angeles got in touch with me. I liked the script and the whole idea. Then I spoke to the director and I came on board. It’s a feature film and Nargis and I are together in the film,” Rajkumar said.
He is happy how content makers are considering Indian talent for their films and shows.
“I feel very fortunate and I think it’s a fantastic time for all the actors. Look at Deepika Padukone, Irrfan Khan, Priyanka Chopra… they all are doing such a fabulous job. I am glad that the west is considering our Indian talent. I am in a happy space right now,” he said.
About his equation with Nargis’ character, he reveals, “Harbhajan is assigned to escort Nargis’s character, an Indian girl raised in the US who has come down to India to do a magazine feature on Indian weddings. What had seemed like a simple assignment turns complicated thanks to this cop who is convinced it’s an espionage operation.”
The actor also reveals that the film revolved around not one, but five wedding. Will one of the five weddings be Nargis’s and his? “That’s a secret for now,” grins Rajkummar.
