New Hyundai Tucson is all set to launch in the country on October 24, 2016. Keeping its promise made during the expo, to launch the premium SUV this year, Hyundai’s timing has been spot on. At a time when the festive season will be at its peak, the Tucson’s launch is likely to give the South Korean automaker the much needed thrust. Additionally, the newly found love for SUVs among buyers is also expected to bring smiles at the Hyundai outlets.
Hyundai Tucson measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,645 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,670 mm. In India, it’s expected to be offered with a 2.0-litre MPI four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 152 PS and 195 Nm of torque, as well as a 2.0-litre CRDi four-cylinder diesel engine in multiple power outputs – 136 PS and 184 PS. Transmission choices will include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic, and an all-wheel drive system could be offered on select models.
Noteworthy 2016 Hyundai Tucson features include LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, LED tail lamps, 19-inch alloy wheels, twin exhaust tail pipes, trapezoidal panoramic glass sunroof, electronic parking brake, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, 6-speaker sound system and six airbags.
With its fluidic looks and powerful engines, this SUV looks all set to disturb sales figures of its rivals such as the Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. After its aggressive pricing with the new Elantra, we expect the price of the new Tucson to range in between Rs 20-25 lakh.
