Back in March, vice president Terry Myerson did confirm that a Windows Surface Phone was in the works. However, he also added that it was not a priority for 2016 and hence likely why the potential release date seems more feasible for 2017.
With Intel currently rolling out the Kaby Lake processors, it is more likely that the Windows Surface Phone could come out with such. Aside from the SoC, the Surface Phone may come out with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.
Latest rumors suggest that the Windows Surface Phone could come out with an OLED display and have some integrated fingerprint scanning feature. A sensor will likely be found underneath the display where will be tasked to recognize the finger of potential owners.
The specs mentioned above for the Windows Surface Phone could be more or less the basic one with word that there will be three variants coming out. Other than the 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, succeeding variants could be 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM with 512 GB storage.
The Windows Surface Phone may be priced starting at $400.
