Nissan has teased the upcoming all-new Micra hatchback ahead of its global reveal at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
From the video, it can also be guessed that the Nissan Micra will be available in an array of colours – shades of Orange, Grey, Green, White, Blue, Red, etc.
From the video, we can see that Micra will feature a redesigned front end with a unique set of bumpers, fenders, and lights, as well as a new bonnet and the brand’s V-motion grille. The overall design will be more crisp and angular as compared to the current Micra, which has rounded body panels. Based on the teaser, a rendering created by IAB’s automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania previews the 2017 Nissan Micra’s front-end in production guise. Hence, the new Micra is expected to get a sloping roofline, prominent character lines on the side of the vehicle, and an angular tailgate.
The next generation Nissan Micra will be based on Nissan’s CMF platform and will be produced out of plant in France and not from Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai.
All-new Nissan Micra to be unveiled on 29 September.
Under the hood, the next generation Nissan Micra will come with a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder engine that will produce a peak power of 109HP, a staggering increase of 34hp, and peak torque of 145Nm. The new Micra will go up against the Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno in India.
