Chinese electronics company Xiaomi has started sending out press invites for their Sept. 27 event to launch the much-awaited Xiaomi Mi 5S.

The newest smartphone might come as a beefed-up and upgraded version of the company’s flagship Xiaomi Mi5. Though the specifications of the new phone have not been confirmed yet, it is expected to sport new and improved features.

It is expected to feature the first ever ultrasonic fingerprint scanner designed by Qualcomm. The biometric reader will be embedded under the screen.

The phone will be made out of metal and glass in three color variants: white, black and gold. Apart from this, the Mi 5S is expected to have a 5.15-inc full HD (1440 x 2560) display with a 4GB/6GB of RAM. The handset will have three internal storage variants of 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Its 16MP camera has a 4-axis OIS, PDAF focusing, and a f/1.8 aperture.

The new phone is also expected to last long with its 3490mAh battery and a Quick Charge 3.0. Powered by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core SoC 2.4 GHz and Adreno 530 GPU for graphics rendering, this smartphone is surely an improved version of the famous Mi5.

Just to compare, the Xiaomi Mi 5 has the same screen size. However, the phone has a 3,000 mAh batter with a fast-charging feature, which is lower than the expected new smartphone. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 820 Quad-core Kryo 1.8GHz and a 3GB RAM.
