Telugu actor Prabhas popular from Baahubali will soon join the likes of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a new wax statue at Madame Tussauds in Bangkok by 2017.
After PM Narendra Modi’s wax statue that was installed in April 2016, Prabhas would be the third Indian personality who will stand tall at the museum, a press release stated.
The statue of Prabhas will be put up by 2017. Just a day before during a press meet for Baahubali 2, the director had hinted that a major surprise was in store for all Prabhas fans on October 5. But looks like he couldn’t “keep the news under wraps” and made the revelations last night itself.
“Very happy to announce that Madame Tussauds is making a wax statue of our PRABHAS… First South Indian to be honoured thus. The statue will be unveiled at Bangkok in March 2017 and subsequently will be toured all over the world,” Rajamouli had tweeted.
Prabahas gained global recognition with ‘Baahubali: The Beginning (2015)’, which became one of the highest grossing Indian films of all time.
Speaking about the honour, Prabhas said “I am really happy to have been selected by Madame Tussauds. I’m also thankful to my guru, SS Rajamouli, for giving me the opportunity to work on this fantastic project.”
“The look was finalised a week before the shoot. My first visit to Tussauds in Hong Kong was in 2013 but I had never imagined that I would be waxed in a statue,” he said.
The first look of Baahubali: The Conclusion will be out on October 22 and the film will hit the screens on April 28, 2017.
