Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are finally available on pre-order in India through online e-tailer Flipkart. Only three variants, 32GB and 128GB for Pixel, and 128GB for Pixel XL are available for the pre sale. The three models as of now would only be available in Quite Black colour for now.

Both Android 7.1 Nougat-based Pixel and Pixel XL can be purchased through zero cost/no cost EMIs, exchange offers, or by opting for EVGs (Electronic Gift Vouchers). While Pixel 32GB costs Rs 57,000, the 128GB variant costs Rs 66,000. Pixel XL 128GB on the other hand is priced at Rs 76,000.

Delivery date is around around October 25. Customers can opt for ‘No-cost EMIs or on EMIs with interest’ with options available from banks, such as SBI, ICICI, HDFC, Citibank and more. The lowest interest-free EMI starts at Rs 3167 per month for a period of 18 months. While opting for EMIs with interest, users would have to pay up to Rs 2,764 per month at 15% interest for 24 months.

Others can opt for the exchange offer, where they would have to trade their old handsets at an amount pre-decided by Flipkart, and then pay the remaining amount.

Third option is one can buy any of the three Pixel smartphones and get an Electronic Gift Voucher worth 10% of the cost of the model, provided the order is not cancelled or returned. This offer is valid for first 1000 customers and until October 24 only.

Both Pixel and Pixel XL are said to be the biggest challenge to Apple and Samsung’s flagship devices. Unlike past smartphone alliances, Google claims that it had complete control of Pixel from start to finish, contracting with Taiwan-based HTC to manufacture handsets.

The company claims that the new Pixel phones are the first phones made by Google inside and out. By producing both the hardware and Android software, Google is making a more direct assault on Apple and its tightly controlled ecosystem.
