UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav along with his father and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav will inaugurate country’s longest 6-lane Greenfield Agra-Lucknow Expressway at Bangarmau in Unnao district on Monday.
Agra-Lucknow Expressway, which stretch 302-km, is the most ambitious project of Akhilesh Yadav.
It has been completed in a record time of 22 month and has cost of Rs 13,200 crore. It will be open for public in December this year.
Fighter jets will touch Agra-Lucknow expressway on its inauguration on Monday, a day chosen to commemorate the birthday of ruling Samajwadi Party patriarch’s 78th birthday on Tuesday.
According to reports, 11 Indian Air Force (IAF) jets will land and take-off from the expressway to test the quality of build. These jet fighters will release tri-coloured smoke.
The Agra-Lucknow expressway will pass through Unnao, Kannauj, Etawah, Mainpuri and Firozabad. It will also will shrink the travel time between Agra and Lucknow to just four hours.
A bureaucrat who witnessed the jet landing was injured in a car crash on the brand new highway. Hours before the accident, the Chief Minister, who had recently taken a ride with his family on the expressway, had warned against speeding on it. “I request you to drive on the expressway with caution and not exceed a speed limit of 100 km an hour,” he had said.
