US President-elect Donald Trump has said that he will deport three million undocumented immigrants “immediately” after assuming office. In a television interview to CBS, his first after being elected President, he said that he will assort people by their criminal records.
“What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers, where a lot of these people, probably two million – it could be even three million – we are getting them out of the country or we are going to incarcerate,”
During the interview, he also insisted that the wall between US and Mexico will be built to prevent immigrants from coming in. However, once the borders were “secure”, the government will determine if they are “terrific” and let them in accordingly.
“After the border is secure and after everything gets normalized, we’re going to make a determination on the people that they’re talking about who are terrific people, they’re terrific people but we are gonna make a determination at that. But before we make that determination … it’s very important, we are going to secure our border,” he said.
“There could be some fencing,” he said. “For certain areas I would [accept a fence], but certain areas, a wall is more appropriate. I’m very good at this, it’s called construction.”
Donald Trump was elected President after winning the electoral votes on November 9, defeating Democrat Hillary Clinton who was also the first woman presidential candidate in US Presidential elections.
