The 51-year old swimmer-turned-model-turned-actor-turned-runner-turned-triathlete Milind Soman just completed the ultra-endurance event, Ultraman Florida 2017. The inspirational actor who has been promoting physical fitness participated in the three-day event held on February 17-19, 2017 and went on to win this extremely difficult physical endurance test by travelling 517.5 kilometers barefoot. The three-day event which involved 423 km of cycling, a 10 km swim and 84 km ultra-marathon.
Considered to be one of the toughest marathons in the world, the race had him and four other Indians cover a distance of over 500 km in three days. Apart from Soman, Abhishek Mishra, Kaustubh Radkar, Prithviraj Patil and Manmadh Rebba from India also took up the challenge and emerged victorious.
Milind Soman had earlier won the grueling Ironman in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2015. The actor, who has redefined ageing gracefully had taken the Ironman challenge to celebrate his 50th birthday. The Ironman, involving a 3.8-km swim, 180.2-km cycle ride and a 42.2-km run, is considered one of the world’s toughest races. Florida Ultraman, which is Soman’s latest win is much more grueling and exhausting.
