A major fire broke out in the multi-storied Chennai Silks textile showroom at the busy T-Nagar area in the city this morning.
However, no casualties were reported. Police said the fire was noticed at around 5 am and fire tender personnel rushed to the spot and struggling to put off the fire till now.
The fire, which broke out on the ground floor of the building, spread even to the seventh floor of Chennai Silks showroom within few hours.
Around 15 employees, who were staying on the third floor of the building, were rescued immediately.
Police have cordoned off the area and were not allowing the public anywhere near the building, which was affected by the fire.
