Tractor manufacturer Escorts have unveiled its first electric tractor concept and hydrostatic Tractor concept and is calling this new platform as ‘Exclusive 2017’ on which the future Escort farming and construction equipment will be based on. Escorts says it has invested about 20-30 crore on this new range. This new platform will help the company to expand its product portfolio for both domestic and export markets. It will cater to 22 HP to 90 HP range under the company’s flagship brands Farmtrac & Powertrac that’s compliant with tier 4 emission norms of Europe and America amidst 43 International distributors.
New Escort Tractor Series
Escort flagship series are known as the New Escort Tractor Series (NETS) includes higher horsepower tractors (70-90 HP) and compact tractors within 22-90 HP of range, cross tractors for both paddy and haulage applications. Along with the Indian market, this series is also sold in international markets like USA, Europe, Latin America and ASEAN markets.

The electric tractor concept showcased has developed in house by the company and the company is confident that its researchers will make this concept to production soon. The company is still evaluating its driving range and torque output.Escorts says its electric tractor will reduce the farmer’s operation costs by over 50%, however, the challenge is to have a decent infrastructure before implementing electrification. The company is confident that government’s recent push will help the over implementation of electric farming and construction equipment.
