The filmmakers of Jai Lava Kusa, starring Jr NTR in the lead role, have declared the film as a sensational blockbuster based on its performance at the box office in the opening weekend. The main cast and crew of the film organised a press meet in Hyderabad on Monday to celebrate the success of the film.

Jai Lava Kusa hit more than 4,000 screens worldwide on Thursday. It debuted at the box office by collecting a gross of Rs 42 crore from its worldwide ticket sales. Its bullish performance continued at the box office, especially in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and the United States.

Worldwide box office collection

The film has reportedly earned Rs 62 crore in Telugu states alone in the last four days. The three-day worldwide box office collection was pegged at Rs 75 crore. The makers are yet to reveal the Sunday collection of the film in rest of India and the US.

Jai Lava Kusa set to become the fourth box office blockbuster of Jr NTR in a row. Overjoyed by the reception of his film at the box office, Jr NTR tweeted, “All this love for #JaiLavaKusa is deeply satisfying. As an actor, can’t ask for anything better. A big thank you from team JLK to everyone.”

The film is his first collaboration with his actor-producer brother Kalyan Ram, who bankrolled the film under his home production NTR Arts banner. Given that the film is a family drama that deals with relationship issues between brothers and family values, Jr NTR has said Jai Lava Kusa was a gift to their parents from him and his brother.

The film is directed by KS Ravindra aka Bobby and stars Raashi Khanna and Nivetha Thomas as female leads.
