Xiaomi is all set to launch its dual-rear camera smartphone in India, something that it has been teasing since late last month. The company has not yet revealed the name or any other detail about the smartphone. However, the curious minds can still livestream the launch event. The launch will begin from 12PM today (September 7) in New Delhi.
The Chinese tech firm will be live streaming the upcoming dual-rear camera smartphone’s launch from its YouTube channel seen below. Xiaomi was earlier rumoured to launch its Mi 5X smartphone in India. However, the company later tweeted saying that the device will mark the debut of a new series, indirectly confirming that the Mi 5X won’t be the smartphone that will be hitting the Indian shores.
One of the smartphone that has been rumoured before and the name of which is said to be different from the rest of the series is the Xiaomi A1. The smartphone came in the news late last month and was said to come with Android One OS. If true, this would bring pure Android UI and timely updates to the smartphone.
Xiaomi has so far not teamed up with Google for Android One smartphones before. A report coming from the Krispitech website last month said that the Xiaomi smartphone with stock Android UI will be taking its cues from the existing Mi 5X smartphone in terms of design. It may be called as the Xiaomi A1 or Xiaomi Tissot. Also speculated was that the device could boast of a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. The report added that the dual-SIM supporting smartphone will boast a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display.
