It was only last month that the rumours of Priyanka Chopra being a part of Rakesh Sharma biopic started doing the rounds. With two years gone by, her Bollywood fans have been eagerly awaiting Chopra’s return to the big screen. And the 35-year-old actor, who is busy with her projects in the West, has finally signed her Hindi film. The Quantico actor will star with Aamir Khan in Rakesh Sharma biopic.

According to a report in DNA, Priyanka has given her nod to the project. However, she will not essay the role of Aamir’s wife in the biopic, as suggested in the earlier reports.

In fact, Priyanka, too, will be seen in the role of an astronaut in the film. It is for the first time that Aamir and Priyanka will share screen space for a film. Tentatively titled Salute, the biopic has been in news for quite some time.

After Mary Kom, this is the second biopic that Priyanka is a part of. A source was quoted as telling DNA, “Well, there was some interest from her side. Because she hasn’t ever worked with Aamir Khan.”

Apart from Salute, Priyanka has also given her green signal to a biopic on astronaut Kalpana Chawla. The source added, “Priyanka met the makers and has asked them to start the pre-production work on the film. This will be the first film to go on floors right after Quantico if all goes well.”
