All the Bangladeshi visa applicants will now be able to submit application fee with the help of electronic system for Indian visa application process. The State Bank of India launched the new service today.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley inaugurated the service which is called ‘cashless visa service’. Bangladesh’s Finanace Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith was also present during the event.

The event held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel located in Dhaka. Initially, the service launched in IVAC, Shyamoli and Sylhet

According to Indian High Commission’s statement, last year around 14 lakh Bangladeshi went to India with visa. The service has  launched to make easier for visa applicants.

After the launch of this new service, the visa applicants will be able to submit the application in any Indian Visa Application Center (IVAC) by submitting the visa fee with the help of an online system, said the statement.

At the same event, the Dhaka office of Exim Bank of India  inaugurated. Among others, State Bank of India Managing Director B Sriram and Managing Director of Exim Bank of India David Raskinha were also present at the event.

Event in Bangladesh

On Wednesday afternoon, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley attended an event organised by the Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh and the High Commission of India, on the subject of ‘Macroeconomic Initiatives of the Government of India’.

During the event, Jaitley highlighted various initiatives for financial inclusion. Arun Jaitley also highlighted how to connect the poor people of India with the banking system and provide the state-of-the-art services in the electronic system.

The Indian High Commission in Dhaka has requested visa applicants to visit the IVAC website – www.ivacbd.com if they wish to pay the Indian visa application processing fee.
