Port Blair: Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday arrived at the Andaman and Nicobar tri-services command on a two-day visit.
She will celebrate Diwali with soldiers at the command on Thursday, besides reviewing its operational preparedness with top officials.

Sitharaman received at INS Utkrosh by Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Admiral (Retired) DK Joshi and Commander-in-Chief of the Command Vice Admiral Bimal Verma.
On arrival, she accorded a joint services guard of honour, officials said.
Later, she given a comprehensive brief on the security environment and thrust areas of the command at its headquarters, they said.
