WBTET 2017: The West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) on Monday released the Teacher’s Eligibility Test (TET) notification. The candidates can start applying online from today. The last date to submit the application form along with exam fees is by October 29 on the official websites – wbbpe.org and wbsed.gov.in.
The TET 2017 would held to fill around 30,000 vacancies in primary schools.
This year, the Primary Education Board will give a five per cent relaxation in the Higher Secondary examination cut-off marks to the reserved category candidates. The five per cent relaxation will also be applicable for family members of a state government employee, who died in harness.
Eligibility:
To be eligible to appear in the WBTET, the general category candidates would have to score at least 50 per cent. The reserved category aspirants (SC, ST and OBC) need to score 45 per cent in the Higher Secondary examination.
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or class 10+2) with at least 50 per cent marks and two year diploma in D.El.Ed.
or
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or class 10+2) with at least 50 per cent marks and 4 year diploma in B.El.Ed.
or
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or class 10+2) with at least 50 per cent marks and having Diploma in Education (Special Education), recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
The candidates have to complete a two-year teachers’ training programme.
Selection process: General students will have to secure 60 per cent marks in the TET examination while SC/ST students will have to secure 55 per cent to be eligible for teaching.
The TET mandatory exam held for getting teaching jobs in state-aided primary schools. WBBPE has not announced the exam dates yet, however, the test would held this year.
