Las Vegas shooting:
In a big breakthrough, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has identified, and killed, the alleged killer of innocent 50 people at a music concert as Stephen Paddock. 64 year old Paddock has been identified as a local resident. Police says that no information on his motives has been received yet. Also, Paddock was not believed to be connected to any militant group. “We have no idea what his belief system was,” Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo was quoted as saying by Reuters.
Prima facie, it is believed Paddock was the sole aggressor in the incident, the police official adds. A number of firearms have been recovered from his residence, the police official adds. The authorities are reported to have located Paddock’s roommate, who they identified as Marilou Danley. However, she has not given any details of whether she was suspected of involvement in the attack but described her as an “associate”.
Police has located two cars that belonged to the suspect. A Reuters report said that at least 10 rifles have been recovered from Paddock’s residence.

The police official also told media that Paddock was born on 9 April 1953, the Independent reported. He said that police has not completed history and background part of the investigation. As per records, Paddock lived in a three-year-old, $396,000 (£297,554) two-bedroom home in the small community of Mesquite. The location is 80 miles north-east of Las Vegas near the Arizona state border.
Metro.uk reports that numerous photos are circulating online, however, none have been confirmed as the killer. The report also says that the name ‘Stephen Paddock’ is registered on the sex offenders’ list, although it is not clear if this is him either. Lombardo also told reporters that Paddock was killed when police blasted their way into his room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.
