L&T head AM Naik says revenue will be Rs 2 lakh Crore by 2020

At the company’s 71st Annual General Meet L&T Chairman A M Naik said that revenue of L&T will be Rs 2 lakh crore by 2020/2021. “Our goal is to achieve a revenue of Rs 2 lakh crores by 2021 – without compromising on our margins and achieving an order inflow in excess of Rs 2.5 lakh crores per annum,” Naik said.

“We believe that the economic conditions are now starting to turn in favour of our company. Combined with the right strategy and on-ground execution, our target, though ambitious, is achievable.”

L&T will embark on it fourth strategic plan beginning financial year 2017. SN Subrahmanyan, deputy managing director and president of the company, will succeed  A M Naik.

In remaining 1 year tenor AM Naik will focus on to mentor young leaders at L&T

“I have personally mentored over 50 future leaders and equipped them with the competencies and strength of character to steer your company through the challenges of the future,” Naik said.

The company already has a 7-step leadership programme designed to build a robust pipeline of future leaders. The stages include training in some of the world’s leading business schools like IIM-A, Ross, Insead and the Harvard and at the final stage, to mentored by Naik himself. He has joined L&T way back in 1965 as a junior engineer. He went on to become the the CEO in 1999 and the chairman in 2003.
