In 52 days first time curfew was lifted from the Kashmir valley leaving three stations. Home minister Rajnath Singh will lead an all party delegation to the state on September 4.
This is done to bring peace in the valley after unrest caused by the protests since killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani on 8th July. The delegation will meet aam janta of Srinagar on 4thand 5th September. The all party team may not talk to secessionists but members will be free to talk to anybody.The timing of visit was decided during J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti’s meetings with home minister Rajnath Singh in Srinagar and PM Narendra Modi in Delhi.
The three areas Nowhatta, Maharaj Gunj and Pulwama remained under curfew. Miscreants emerged in these area and caused disturbances. Rioters pelted stones on private vehicles, barricades and also on security force’s vehicles.
While J&K opposition party National Conference said it would provide legal assistance to youngsters arrested during the unrest in the valley.
