As Bhallaladeva of Baahubali turns 32 today, the filmmakers pushed out the first look of Rana Daggubati from Baahubali 2 and the actor looks as bestial as he can get. With a vicious glare, salt-and-pepper hair with a man bun, cladding a bullish armour and holding a humongous retractable mace, King Bhallaladeva ( or Palvalthevan) is sure to cause a lot of destruction in Baahubali: The Conclusion, as S S Rajamouli puts it. On Wednesday, distributor Dharma Productions posted a picture of Rana Daggubati as Bhallala Deva.

Here’s how Bhallala Deva will look:

Better, faster, stronger in this new look from #Baahubali2! Wishing @ranadaggubati a very happy birthday!

In order to play the warrior, Rana trained in martial arts and followed a tough workout routine for two-and-a-half hours each day over five month.

Rana Daggubati will be playing a younger version of Bhallala Deva in Baahubali: The Conclusion which continues the story from where it ended (with the death of Baahubali) in the first film. While speaking to news agency IANS about his new look, the 32-year-actor said, “The older Bhallala is stronger and beefier. So, I weighed around 108-110 kg for some portions in both the films. His younger version is strong too, but leaner. So I lost a few kilos for that. My weight has dropped to 92-93 kg now.”

The actor made his acting debut in 2010 with the super hit Telugu film Leader for which he was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South. However, Rana had been active in the industry much before that. He worked as a Visual Effect producer for the Telugu movie Sainikudiu featuring Mahesh Babu and won the State Nandi Award for Best Special Effects for it in 2016. As co-producer, he won the National Film Award for the film Bommalata – A Bellyful of Dreams. As an actor, his work in the film Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum received critical acclaim.

Rana also starred in Hindi movies like Baby and Dum Maro Dum. He was also seen playing a cameo in Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
