Supplementary exam results:
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared the results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Class 12 supplementary examination on its official website on Monday. The overall pass percentage for the supplementary exam was 24.96 per cent, 3 per cent as compared to 2016.
Mumbai division, which had the highest number of students appearing for the exam (26,771) recorded the lowest pass percentage among the nine divisions at 18.74 per cent. Aurangabad division scored the highest pass percentage at 37 per cent followed by Pune at 25.89 per cent.
SY Chandekar, Secretary, Mumbai divisional board said that Mumbai’s performance has been more or less the same since the last two years. “From the time that these exams started, Mumbai recorded the pass percentage of 17-22 per cent. The low passing rate can be attribute to a large number of students that appear privately from the division,” he said.
A total of 93,271 students registered for the exam, of which 68,605 were boys and 24,666 were girls. The usual trend, girls outshined boys by with a 28.72 pass percentage versus boys’ 23.61 per cent. The overall pass percentage of science is at 30.80 per cent, for arts, it’s 23.98 per cent while for commerce and vocational courses, it is 22.54 per cent and 24.62 per cent respectively.
Students can collect their marksheets from the respective schools/centres on August 24. The board would take applications for photocopy and rechecking from Tuesday.
