When a Bengaluru-based start-up company Invento Robotics came out with an idea of an intelligent robot, they had the potential to design but did not know how to manufacture it. The group then looked for suppliers in Chinese manufacturing hubs of Shenzhen and Dongguan, India Today said. Now, the result is Mitra, a robot functioning at a Canara Bank branch in Bengaluru.

The robot will soon seen in hospitals and movie theatres too. While in hospitals, it will seen reminding patients of their medical history, in cinema halls it will offer suggestions to movie-goers based on their earlier visits, the report added.
Four prototypes that have manufactured in a factory in Dongguan with circuit boards from Shenzhen city are on their way to India. Hundreds more will shipped into the country if the company is successful.
Dongguan factory
Balaji Viswanathan, one of the founders of the company said that while the designing part done in India, its plastic mould is manufactured in a Dongguan factory and printed circuit boards are made in Shenzhen. The company launched by Viswanathan, Mahalaksmi Radhakrishnan and Bharath Kumar.
When asked about the benefits of sourcing equipment from China, Vishwanath said that the quality of assemblage is quite good in the country and so is the product delivery speed. He is in Dalian to attend the first India-China Dalian Internet of Things (IoT) Conference.
The conference jointly organised by India’s National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) and the Dalian municipal government.
