After Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor’s explosive looks as Rani Padmini and Maharawal Ratan Singh from Padmavati, Ranveer Singh is here in the avatar of Alauddin Khilji to set your hearts racing.
Looking pure royalty and fierce at the same time, Ranveer is giving us more reasons to be impatient for Padmavati’s release. His kohled eyes, the long tresses and the vicious look are all adding up to the rugged look of his character of Alauddin Khilji. Going by the latest posters, the character of Bollywood’s live wire seems to have all the abilities to be touted as one of the most iconic antagonists of Hindi film industry.
Like his every role, Ranveer did all that it takes to get into the skin of his character. He locked himself up in his apartment, prepped and stayed in the headspace for weeks. To play Alauddin Khilji, a menacing, cruel anti-hero in Sanjay Bhansali’s directorial, Ranveer explored such hidden depths of negativity that he has actually had to see a psychiatrist to get back to ‘normal’. We must say, after Bajirao Mastani and Lootera, Ranveer has pushed the envelop for this one too.
And after superhits like Bajirao Mastani and Goliyon Ki Rasleela – Ramleela, we expect no less from this venture of the talented actor. It not only brings the iconic trio of Deepika, Ranveer and Sanjay Leela Bhansali together but also has Shahid Kapoor. And there is no doubt that these three stellar actors are going to paint magic on screen with this period drama.
Look of Ranveer Singh:
Just like Deepika and Shahid, Ranveer’s look also released at suryodya or dawn on October 3, as was the tradition in those times. Announcing the news on social media, Deepika wrote, “Ranveer Singh’s first look as #Khilji arrives tomorrow morning!” The film’s team has very diligent with the promotions till now, making sure to give their fans all kinds of royal feels, we wonder if the same will be meted out with the film which is slated for a December 1 release.
Ranveer last seen in a surprising clean-shaven look at an award function recently. He also revealed that he was sporting this look as he was shooting the scenes which feature the younger version of Alauddin. Shahid and Ranveer had also recently posted updates from their dubbing sessions for Padmavati, denying all rumours of the film’s release date being postponed.
Padmavati slated to release on December 1.
