After a meeting with fans at his Chennai’s residence, movie-demigod Kamal Haasan has decided to kick-start his political career on his birthday next month. According to reports, Kamal will be floating his own political party on November 7, coinciding with his 63rd birthday.
He had convened a meeting on Wednesday with his fans to ideate over his imminent political entry. Reports suggest that the Visharoopam star will have many “freshers” on his party’s leadership positions and the expenses of his outfit will footed by crowd-funding.
While talking to media earlier, Kamal had said that he will be drawing certain guidelines on which his political party will be built. He added that anyone who appreciates his ideology may join him in his political journey.
Political entry
Kamal has been testing grounds for his political entry in Tamil Nadu via his social media handles following the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. He has been creating waves with his bold statements about the state which is currently reeling under infighting of ruling AIADMK party.
Recently, Kamal made clear of his intentions about taking the plunge into active politics and contesting the next elections. It comes even as his compatriot Superstar Rajinikanth continues to keep everyone guessing about his political entry.
On Sunday, while talking at the inauguration of Sivaji Ganesan’s memorial, Rajinikanth said stardom in the film industry doesn’t usually ensure success in politics. However, he suggested Kamal may have what it takes to achieve his goals in politics.
On film career front, Kamal is gearing up to release Vishwarropam 2. He also expected to warp up Sabaash Naidu and Indian 2 before becoming a full-time politician.
