Angelina Jolie files for divorce from Brad Pitt

Hollywood power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reportedly ended their two-year marriage. According to TMZ.com, the Oscar-winning actress, filed divorce documents on Monday, September 19, citing irreconcilable differences.

According to the report, Jolie is asking the judge for physical custody of their 6 children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox. She is also asking the judge to grant Pitt only visitation rights and not ‘joint physical custody’.

Angelina decided to divorce the Hollywood star because she was ‘extremely upset with his parenting methods’.

The stars who met on the sets of ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’ were together for ten years before tying the knot in a low-key wedding in August 2014. Jolie is not asking for spousal support and has listed September 15, 2016, as the date of separation.
In a statement to People magazine, Pitt said: “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

Jolie is being represented divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who helped in her divorce from Billy Bob Thornton and is representing Johnny Depp in his divorce from Amber Heard.

This will be the second divorce for Pitt and third for Jolie.

Earlier this month, Jolie was photographed working alone as UNHCR special envoy in a Syrian refugee camp in Azraq in northern Jordan.

The couple were photographed together back in July, celebrating her son’s birthday in a West Hollywood restaurant.
