Srinagar: Three LeT terrorists have been killed in an encounter with the security forces at Sopore, in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the encounter area.
According to the Additional Deputy Commissioner, all government and private schools and colleges in Sopore are closed today post encounter. The internet services have also been snapped in North Kashmir’s Baramulla District.
As per the reports of ANI, a joint operation is conducted by 179 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF), 52 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operation Group ( SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police since 04:30 a.m. Saturday morning.Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, North Kashmir IGP Nitish Kumar informed that one police jawan has been injured in the encounter.
Talking to IANS, police spokesman Manoj Pandita confirmed the news and said,”The terrorists were killed in Amargarh area of Sopore in an encounter with police, army and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the slain terrorists. The exact identity of the terrorists is being established. One police constable was injured during the encounter. He was shifted to hospital where doctors have described his condition as stable.”
The incident came days after top LeT terrorist Abu Dujana, a Pakistani national wanted in connection with several terror attacks, and his aide were gunned down by the security forces in an encounter in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.
