Punjab Police on Sunday arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Naresh Yadav, who was booked for desecrating a holy book earlier this month.
Before being arrested, Yadav in a press conference said whenever he was called by the police, he went and answered all the questions.
Yadav alleged that the SAD-BJP Government in Punjab is restless now as in coming Punjab elections AAP will come in majority next year. Yadav further said that the AAP is an honest party and he is with the people of all religions.
Yadav was booked under relevant sections of the IPC after one of the accused, Vijay Kumar, arrested in connection with the incident, claimed he had done it at the behest of the AAP MLA.
The Punjab Police have already questioned the AAP MLA twice in connection with the incident.
