 An encounter is underway between security forces and terrorists in Tral region of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. If reports are to be believed, three terrorists have been gunned down by the security forces in the Gulab Bagh area. Meanwhile, the internet services have been snapped.

As per reports, a joint operation has been launched by 180 batallion of CRPF, SOG, Jammu and Kashmir police and 42 Rashtriya Rifles.

Earlier on Tuesday, three overground workers (OGWs) of Hizbul Mujahideen were arrested in Baramulla district of north Kashmir. According to the officials, the troops of 29 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF had put a joint naka at Behrampora Tilgam in a bid to unearth a module of the outfit.

On Monday an encounter broke out between terrorist and security forces in Drubgam area of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. One or two terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen were believed to be trapped in the region. As per reports, the operation was launched after the security forces received inputs of terrorists hiding in the area.

On August 6, a terrorist was killed in encounter in Pulwama’s Samboora. On Saturday, three terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were killed by the security forces in J&K’s Sopore.

A Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist was killed by security forces in an encounter in Anantnag on Friday whereas, on August 3,  an Army major and a jawan were martyred in a gunbattle with terrorists in Zaipora village of Shopian district in south Kashmir.
