External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj recently reached out to a Russian tourist who was found begging at a temple in Kancheepuram after his ATM PIN got blocked. She has now taken to Twitter assuring visa to a Pakistani woman who is seeking treatment for last stage kidney failure.

Ghaffar Khan, the husband of the patient, reached out to Swaraj seeking medical visa for his family to travel to India for treatment.

The Hyderabad resident mentioned how his wife, Neelma Ghafar, has to undergo dialysis three times a week. Swaraj respond to his tweets assuring that she would get them the visa required for their travel to India.

This is not the first time that the minister has extended her hand to those seeking help from the neighbour country. In September this year, Swaraj granted medical visa to a seven-year-old from Karachi requiring an open heart surgery. The minister, responding to the girl’s mother Nida Shoaib, had tweeted, “…We also pray for her early recovery.”

Here some of the reactions her timely response generated on Twitter.
